day 8

A place I've traveled to.

I've been all over the U.S. when I was growing because my dad traveled for work constantly. During school breaks my mom and I would tag along. The trip that sticks out the most is a trip my mom and I took because we wanted to, not as tag alongs. We went to San Francisco in March of 2005. It was a short trip but it was so awesome. My mom and I loved going to historic places and learning all we could while there. The thing on the top of our list was Alcatraz. My mom bought the tickets months in advance because they are always sold out. We spent half a day on Alcatraz soaking in the environment and going into every area we could. It's an experience I will never forget. We also checked out the stinky seals off the pier, had sandwiches on sourdough bread, walked into all the cool shops on Fisherman's Wharf, saw the weird living statue people all over, looked at Lombard street and Ghiradelli square. We were only there for 2 days but it was fantastic. Someday I'll go back and experience San Francisco as an adult and make a trip over to see the Golden Gate bridge since all we saw of it was from the fairy over to Alcatraz.

My mom and dad used to live in the bay area and we drove to Modesto for my mom to show me the house they used to live in and the cute neighborhood it was in. We finished the trip by driving up to see my Grandma in Sacramento and spent a few days with her.

I will never forget this trip. It was somewhere my mom always wanted me to experience I'm so happy she was able to take me.
Pictures are from Google Images, not ones we took while on the trip.

day 4/30

My Parents.

My mother was absolutely amazing! Born in Youngstown,Ohio and grew up in Sacramento, California. She loved children, teaching, James Taylor, scrapbooking, crafts and going on road trips among many other things. She was my best friend which as a teenage my friends probably thought I was crazy when I said I was hanging out with my mom but she was just that great. She passed away June 25, 2005 and I miss her dearly.

My father was born and raised right here in Salt Lake City. I can show you the house he grew up in, elementary, middle and high school he went to, and where he held his first job. I like that I know that history about him. He enjoys cars and being caught up in all the latest news stories. I have to admit I don't know a whole lot about him like I did of my mother. My dad traveled alot for work when I was growing up and I didn't see him much.  Anywho's My parents got married in 1975 ( I think) and my dad is now a widower.

I thank both of them for bringing me into this world and teaching me their ways.

Day 3/30

First Love
Does my mom count? Oh you mean a boy, alright I'll go there. His name is Devin. I was in 5th grade and he was my 'boyfriend' off and on until 7th grade. You can call it puppy love but I loved him none the less. He was my first boyfriend and first love.

2/30

Hello!!

Meaning of my blog name. The name is life of a new mommy. How do I explain this further? I started the blog when I was pregnant with Miss Em and then it was called Pregnant at 19. Since you are obviously only pregnant for a short period of time the name wasn't permanent. As soon as she was born I changed it to what it is now because at the time I was a new mommy and blogging about my life as such. It's probably in need of a more permanent update but I can't think of anything clever and when I change it, I want it to be awesomely clever. So until then it will stay as Life of  New Mommy. :)
