A ton has happened since I last posted. Emory is now ten months old! I can't believe it, less than 2 months until her first birthday. The feeling is bittersweet. She's getting older, bigger and learning new things everyday and I love every minute of that but I miss the cuddly newborn that slept all the time. At her 9month check up on 8/20 she was 16 lbs even and 26 inches long. I dont know how long she is or how much she weighs right now but her 3-6 shirts have been getting short the past couple of weeks. We are now graduating her into 6-12 month shirts. :( She refuses to stand on her own and I know she can. She could walk if she wanted but she's fully content crawling and cruising the furniture. She has slept 6-7 hours straight 3 times in the past 3 weeks which makes me a happy mommy. Its one step closer to sleeping all the way through the night. We've had a snag at bedtime the past few days and she just screams and screams until she gags herself. I'm thinking that we have hit the seperation anxiety stage and it only comes out at bedtime. :( When we leave for work she doesn't care but she's also distracted since she has a friend to play with and I'm glad that I don't have to leave her screaming. Emory has started clapping, I love it! She has mastered drinking out of sippies with stoppers in them. WHOO HOO No more silicone spout sippies that leak all over! She loves to eat big people food and her favorite snack at the moment is Baby Mum-Mums.
As for me, I am back in school. My friend and I were talking about school one day and she mentioned that I could probably get a lot of money in grants since I am not married and have a child. I then started looking up schools and financial aid information. I made an appointment to re-enroll at the college I had gone to before. I ended up getting almost 9,000 in grants and the rest is completely covered by loans so while I'm in school I dont have to pay a penny. :D I enrolled and registered for full time, 4 classes. Its alot of work and stress but I know it will all work out in the end and only lasts for a short time.
I am also an adult advisor for Job's Daughters, I am in charge of the ritual and making sure its done correctly. I am so glad I have this opportunity since Job's Daughters was such a big part of my life for 2 years and I had to stop going for about 6 months. I love that I can be involved again. It had added more to my busy plate but I wouldn't change it for the world.
I am still working part time and all of this can be overwhelming, mommy, school, Jobies and work. I'm worn out and feel stretched thin but I will get into a groove. I'm working on managing my time better and will hopefully be able to not feel so overwhelmed here in the near future.
Jason has been working a ton and going to school part time. He is still working on his promotion and is getting closer and closer. He has been thinking about continuing school for web design and animation. I want him to since the job market right now for graphic designers isn't great and I think with the web animation degree he will be a better prospect for employers than a graphic designer would be. It also gives more time for the economy to get better as well as the job market.
That's the update on us right now. We're still hanging in there. :D
