Emory went this morning for her 2 month check up. Shes growing very well and right on the the curve of the 50th percentile. Her weight is 10 lbs 14 oz, 22 1/4 in long, 38.1 cm head circumference. At her 2 week appt she was 8 lbs 6 oz, 20 in long, 35.3 cm head circumference. She was in the 50th percentile then and still is. The pediatrician said that she has much better head control than she should have for a 2 month old and that shes doing great! We had a concern about this bump on the back of her head that is about the size of a pea turns out its a lymph node and its prominent because its creating antibodies against something. The dr wasn't quite sure but said it will go down. We also had a concern about her eyes. They seem like she can't quite get in focus most of the time. Her eyes just dart back and forth fairly quickly like they are trying to focus so the dr. told us to have her see a pediatric opthamologist. She listened for her heart murmer and didn't hear it one bit and is now pretty sure that its closed on its own. She didn't hear it at her 2 week check up either so its a great sign she didn't hear it today. Then she got her shots! 5 shots and one oral vaccine. 3 in one leg 2 in the other then the one she had to swallow. She took the oral one wonderfully and screamed her head off for the others. It was so sad and I had taken her to the dr by myself and was in tears watching it. She calmed right down though and I got her dressed and we were on our way.
I expected her to be fairly fussy during the day but she wasn't too fussy. She had about an hour where she was just crying, we gave her a warm bath and it seemed to help the discomfort on her little thighs. Shes been alert and happy most of the day. She went to bed at 8 and has been asleep for 4 1/2 hours. I hope this is a start to a bedtime schedule. She slept awesome last night. Normally she'll wake up between 2 and 5 and want to play, that is not a time that mommy and daddy want to play. Today she woke up at 7:45, now she did wake up during the night to nurse but slept through nursing and went fully out after. At 7:45 she wanted to play so we played for a little over an hour she nursed again and went back to sleep about 9 am. It was great to get sleep at night and have enough sleep to actually function all day!
Also last night she slept in her bassinet til about 4 am and tonight has been in her bassinet! I think we're FINALLY getting a routine or somewhat of one.
