Trip to the sun

The sun? Ha ha not really just down to Phoenix to see my sister, brother and nieces and nephews that I love so very much.

We left the morning of the 8th. It was Emory's first plane ride and my first ride in about 3 years and my last experience wasn't all that fantastic so I was nervous. Jason was able to help me back to the gate and wait with us before boarding. He was sad we were leaving and I was excited to be leaving which made him more sad. We had a crazy week before (will post about that later) and this trip came faster than we expected. We said our goodbyes and walked our way down the jet way. When we got in our seat and I buckled up Emory asked 'daddy?' I tried to tell her that daddy is going home and we're going somewhere else. She doesn't understand half the things I tell her but I still try to talk to her as an adult and not a baby. She then looked and me and said 'phone?' and pointed down to my purse underneath the seat. I told her that we can't call daddy until we land in phoenix and she'll get to talk to him later. She was okay with this.
Take off was a breeze.

They handed out peanuts shortly after take off. Emory had the little baggy of them and wanted one. Normally she does okay with small normal choking hazards so I gave her one. BAD IDEA. Emory has a horrible habit of chewing stuff and taking forever to swallow it. She did this with the peanut and ended up choking on a tiny piece of almost chewed peanut. After a few coughs I thought she was okay and offered a drink. Nope this made it worse. She gagged and threw up in my hand, on herself and my leg at 37,000 feet in the air. Thank heavens for the lady next to me who helped my clean myself off and change emory's clothes. She held the bag to put my napkins and wipes in and then the bag for emory's gross clothes. She was a big help and I'm greatful for her. After em was all cleaned up we were about 45 min from our destination. She screamed and cried for 20 minutes until she finally passed out and slept the rest of the way, thankfully. We landed just before 10 am and the pilot announced it was 104 (or somewhere close to that) YUCK!

That day we went mini golfing with Christian, Josh, Kelly, Adam and the kids. Emory slept on aunt Kelly and the kids ran around and golfed to their hearts content. We spent the rest of the day relaxing at Christians apartment.
Em and Paige
She loved Christian's dog, Sam.
Monday was my birthday. 22. (wait I'm only 22?! it's weird I feel older) Christian took me to lunch at Red Lobster MMM!! Kelly, paige and Emily were there too. It was tasty and we had fun. Then I went over to kelly's while christian set up for my party she threw me. Emory played with the kids and had a blast stealing toys from her cousins who really didn't like her all that much for it.

That night Emory stayed at Kelly and Adam's and apparently was a big jerk and cried most of the time. She's normally a great baby and this kind of surprised me that she didn't sleep much at all. The party was a blast. A few of Christian and Josh's friends came over, Taylor, Matt and Shyanne joined the fun as well. A good time was had by all.

Tuesday I woke up to Emory squealing at Sam, Christian's dog. This is when I found out she'd been a big brat the night before, Christian went and picked her up on the way back from taking Josh's car to the shop. We went to Last Chance this day and I got some sweet deals. I got bear paw boots for $18! AWESOME!

Wednesday we went to the Science Center. We took Jonas along for the fun. I was kind of disappointed that half the stuff was closed because they are redoing a ton of exhibits but we all had a blast and Emory loved it.

She loves Christian
Wobble Walkway that she was so excited to walk across

We ended the day by going to Chuck E. Cheese with Kelly, Adam and the kids.

Thursday we had lunch at Waffle House. I miss that place and it was very tasty. That night Shyanne cut and dyed my hair. I haven't gotten a picture of it yet...yes I know I'm a slacker. Emory played with Matt's dogs while I got my hair done. Chief and Cortana don't quite know what to think of such a small, LOUD thing. Matt's apartment is not kid friendly at all and Christian was kept busy making sure Em didn't get into anything. It was so good to see my brother and get to know his wife a little bit. I miss being able to spend time with him like we used to just playing games for hours and hours.
Emory and Chief. This was taken sunday night when we went over to get christians hair dyed.

Friday was our last day there :( The week flew by so quickly. We went to a splash pad and Emory did not like aunt Kelly taking her in to get wet.

We had lunch at Weinershnitzel (probably just butchered that. It's late lol I'll fix it later) Then off to get our stuff ready to go. We went back to kelly's after everything was loaded in the car and hung out for a couple of hours. It's nice spending time with my sister. I miss her lots and lots.

Then it was off to the airport. We said our good byes at the house and were on our way. At the airport we said bye to Christian and Josh and it was off to security we went. I had to walk through the thing 3 times. First time I forgot I had my belt on. Second time I hit the side. Third time bam we're through. Then my bag needed to be searched. I had forgot a water bottle in there and the guy was jerk. I said it was for Emory even though it wasn't haha. He tested her sippy and the water and sent my bag through the scanner again and we were on our way to the gate.

We had a little over an hour to kill and Emory was antsy. I got us something to eat and she didn't want it of course. So we walked the terminal and sat and looked out the window for planes. After chasing Emory all over for an hour it was time to line up to board. We got on and got situated. Emory slept from take off to landing. This flight was much better than our flight there. Phew! I was so happy.

When we got back Jason was able to come back the gate to get us. It was a surprise and we were so excited to see him there. It was good to be back where it wasn't so hot. It was 110 ish nearly everyday we were in phoenix and only 85ish here at home. I miss everyone terribly and it makes me miss the way things used to be. When we all lived close and saw eachother all the time. I hate that we live so far away and I'm having a hard time with it now. It didn't bother me much before but it bothers me a lot now.

Anyway that was our trip in an overstuffed nutshell.

And I will be leaving you with this.
sitting in Sam's cage. She loved it in there.
