Big things coming our way

So on New Year's Eve I posted on Facebook that big things were coming our way for the new year. A wedding possibly being one of them. I had to give a hint so people wouldn't be guessing. At that point big things were coming our way that not many people knew about. I had accepted a new job that started January 28th, this was a huge change. I was at Gymboree for 5 1/2 years and loved that job but it was time to move on. Time for me to have a consistent schedule for Emory and for me to have health insurance. Another reason a consistent schedule was so important to me will be here in August, hence why health insurance was super important.

Yes, you read that right, we're expecting a new little member to our family in August and we couldn't be more excited. We actually found out on December 2nd but held in all our excitement until February 8th. I had big plans to tell our families on Christmas but I spent the day in bed with horrible bronchitis so we procrastinated. HA More like I did. Jason was busting at the seams to tell everyone so it had to come out. We gave my sister a onesie that says "my auntie rocks" and got Emory "big sister" pajamas. :) She's excited, Jason's sisters are excited, We're excited.

We went to the doctor this past Wednesday for my first visit. Really late for a first visit but it was the fastest I could be fit in once I had my health insurance. We were able to get an ultrasound to date the pregnancy and were able to sneak a peak at baby's gender. I was hoping my mommy intuition was right. The cute tech had to try for a few minutes to get a good look since baby wouldn't open it's legs. It's so funny because Emory's legs were wide open at her ultrasound and this kid wouldn't open it's legs for anything. We finally got a good picture and it's a BOY! :D We couldn't be more excited to have one of each. Jason has put in a request for a little leisure suit like he had when he was a baby. HAHA His excitement about this is so cute.

This pregnancy is so different. With Em, I was scared out of my mind being 19 and not having a clue about being a mom. Now we're older, we've done the parent thing for 4 years and we're ready to bring another  life into this world. There are things I'm scared about but I'm not letting them take over my thoughts. Every mom will have worries and since I have a kid with special needs already that's one of my biggest worries is that he will too. But I can't change that and will love him just the same so I try to put those to the back of my mind. I won't be given more than I can handle and I have trust in that.
